lambs heart Dissections

last week we had to dissect a lambs heart, the heart was very big. we had to cut the side of the heart first, it was quite tricky at first to cut because it was still frozen but after it had defrosted a bit it was eiser to cut. the heart on the inside has lots of little veins and arteries it looks gross and smells gross to.... all up i enjoyed it haha :)

human body cut out

last week in human body we had to cut out a human body and the organs. we then had to paste them onto the body in the right places and then we drew what we thought a sheeeps heart looked like and wrote about it. :) it was interesting to see where all of the parts in the body go and i was fun as well.

Brain dissections.

Last week in human body we dissected a lambs brain, we first drew what we thought the brain looked like and then we looked at the brain and had to draw what it actually looked like. We then labeled the parts of the brain and started to cut the brain. We cut the cortex and looked at it and then tales about what it looks like and what it does, we also tried to find the spinal cord some people's brains had it but some didn't. I know know why we need a skull because the brain is very fragile and squishy. I really liked the dissections and I learnt a lot more about the brain now I have looked at one up close. We also watched a video about our life Spanish and aging, we had to write up a table and fill in all of the facts we heard on the video to our related questions.

dissecting a pigs leg

Today we dissected a pig’s leg, we had to try and find the similarities between a human leg and a pig’s leg. We had to use a Scalpel to cut between the patella to see if we could see the pads where the patella sits. It was quite tricky because we couldn’t damage the pads. It was very interesting to do, I really liked it.

basketball shooting test

this week we did an experiment about basketball shooting, we had to shoot with our seys open, right eye closed and left eye closed and see how many goals we could get. we found out that regulars are better than novices. we answered questions about the experiment too.
